About Cravencrest

I named "Cravencrest" after the drama I crave and an old soap opera named "Falcon Crest".  The characters are a hodge podge of people that I have come across during my journey through life.  As a Black woman, in my late 20s, I wanted to provide a small window in to situations that often arise in my peer group.  The characters and their circumstances are not purely exclusive to those in their 20s.  The characters are relate-able and many will be able to identify aspects of each characters personality in the people in their own lives.

Soap operas are not new.  Initially, soap operas were read and broadcast on radio.  Then, of course they matriculated to television.  So, it's not surprising, that the natural progression would be for "soaps" to make their way onto the internet.  There is only one other on-line soap opera that I know of "As The Sands Burn" www.atsbonline.com.  It's a soap opera focused on the lives of people in Fraternities and Sororities on the campus of a fictional university named Ahpla.  Since, I only know of that one soap opera, I figured surely there would be room for more!

I've been asked "why don't you get an ensemble together and have people act out your episodes?".  The reason is, I rather enjoy writing and honestly I don't have the desire to become a director and a producer.

I hope you enjoy reading Cravencrest as much as I enjoy writing it.  Feel free to e-mail me at sodipo13@gmail.com with any questions or comments!

Enjoy!
